SURROUNDINGS

“We are located in a natural basin, dominated by the historic center of Seggiano, where expanses of centuries-old olive groves and small vineyards surround Monte Amiata in a unique setting”

Wildfire Outdoors

Woods, olive groves, vineyards, chestnut woods and fruit trees color the landscape around the small village of Seggiano. The classic mountain roads alternate with vaguely flat stretches and the breathtaking views across the Val d’Orcia are the perfect setting of a unique and exclusive unexplored countryside. The millennial village of Seggiano and the Castle Potentino are the face of a medieval “Seggiano”. It is also surrounded by the Giardino di Spoerri and the diffused oil museum, which are the cultural soul of the pretty village. Among the sacred places to visit are the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Carità, the church of San Bartolomeo, of San Bernardino, the oratory of San Rocco and the ruins of the convent of the Colombaio.

Along the typical mountain roads you can reach the summit of Monte Amiata, now extinct volcano overlooking the villages below and the surrounding valleys. An ideal destination for winter sports lovers but also for “slow and conscious” trekking and tourism. Today this mountain offers visitors a wide range of outdoor activities.

Also worth visiting is the small fishing lake of Pescina, a small mountain village full of restaurants and inns.
Nearby is Montalcino, home of the famous “Brunello”. Pienza and Bagno Vignoni are a few kilometers away and easily reachable by car, both of which are rich in history, culture and gastronomy of excellence.
